About Our Trainer
The Full Story
Beginning at the young age of 5, I've been fully immersed in the equestrian world. I grew up taking showjumping lessons and found myself unable to stay away from the barn. Eventually, I got my first horse (a mule) and had the amazing opportunity to train her myself. We did shows and succeeded in the hunter ring. After that, I had different horses throughout my teens, that I was able to develop, and eventually sell. At this time, I was also working for an established hunter/jumper farm in Missouri and learned the ins and outs of taking care of upper level show horses and managing clients. Using that expertise, I then travelled to work at a polo farm in Egypt for a few months, where I learned new styles of riding. After that- a dressage farm in Oban, Scotland where I learned liberty horsemanship and more dressage. I continue to venture back and forth from the states for shows in Florida, and working for show farms in Missouri. Over the last several years, I've developed lesson programs for other farms in Costa Rica- leading me to this very moment. The choice to create my own horse sanctuary was fueled by my love, passion, and 18 years of experience with horses. Over time, I collectively observed that within the area, there was a complete lack of educated trainers and farms that put the horses first. The sole purpose and goal behind Finca El Mirador, is for enthusiastic equestrians like myself who just want the best for these beautiful animals.
